CTI for Mac with Asterisk

Let’s go – the tour

The first version of CallControl was released in 2008 and featured “CTI for Mac with Asterisk 1.4″. Since then CallControl got a major overhaul and now works with Asterisk versions 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8.

Dialing

Dial from MacOS X AddressBookCallControl let’s you integrate your Mac with your Asterisk connected phone, so you can dial numbers on your phone right from your Mac using manual typing of the number or your AddressBook with contacts from local sources, Exchange servers, iCloud, LDAP or CardDAV. You can also use AppleScript for dialing from FileMaker, Outlook, Mail or various productivity apps or create custom applications and let them dial numbers for you using AppleEvents. The “Services”-menu on your Mac will be CallControl enabled as well, so you can use almost every application to dial phone numbers.

Caller recognition

When using CallControl you will always know who’s calling you with the first ring of your phone, as CallControl displays the name and picture from your AddressBook. CallControl uses your Mac’s AddressBook with all of it’s contacts from every source included to try to recognize who’s calling you…

History and Current Calls

History view with 100 itemsNot every phone keeps a list of all your last calls… CallControl logs it all for you. You can see the last 100 calls in a list giving you additional information like duration of a call, type of call and partner. The new "Current Calls"-view allows you to keep track of the calls you are working with right at the moment. So you can see, whether a call on hold is still connected, who is trying to call you while you are talking or just manage more than one call at a moment. You can also Park and Hangup right from the "Current Calls"-view

Team

Transfer calls to team membersReal CTI begins, where a team is, so you can always see whether your team members are on the phone, pick-up calls for them or transfer calls right from CallControl. That makes it easy to delegate calls on workplaces with high traffic or just manage them professionally without time consuming talk backs to team members.
